Greetings! Welcome to the Wisconsin Quarter website!  Since 1848, when Wisconsin became the 30th state to join the Union, we’ve been a national leader on all fronts – producing quality food and manufactured products, creating a top-notch education system, excelling in research, and encouraging progressive thought.   The release of the Wisconsin Quarter marks an exciting time in our history and the quarter represents the best that our great state has to offer.  The quarter reflects our proud agricultural tradition and is inscribed with our motto and pledge “Forward” – representing our drive to be a national leader.  Since our founding, Wisconsin has had a proud agricultural tradition and it is fitting that agriculture is depicted on our quarter.  Wisconsin leads the nation in dairy production, is home to world class cheese makers, and is in the top five producers of corn for grain in the country.  Our farmers help feed the world and we’re proud of all that they do.  Millions of Americans will see the Wisconsin quarter and it will help to promote our state as a dairy and agriculture world leader.    I hope that the release of the Wisconsin Quarter will also be a way for school children in our state to learn about Wisconsin as well as the U.S. Treasury.    Enjoy this website and come back often.   On Wisconsin.    Sincerely, Jim Doyle Governor
